I live to hear the LORD say to me, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.” Knowing that Jesus is coming back soon, I endeavor that He finds me doing His will and fulfilling my calling. If He does not come back during my lifetime, still, I will be faithful to Him, because I love Him.

Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find? (Proverbs 20:6 NIV). When that verse first caught my attention many years ago, I realized that faithfulness is a characteristic of those who love God. I decided not to be numbered with those who offer lip service to God, but to be counted among the true lovers of God; those who are faithful no matter the cost.

This is not to say that my faithfulness to God is perfect, for I falter many times. However, by His grace, I am trying. Kathryn Kuhlman said the first thing she would tell Jesus on meeting Him in heaven would be: “We tried.” I too will stand before Him and say, “Wonderful Jesus, I tried.”

As a Pastor, my desire is to raise a company of people who love God and demonstrate it by their faithfulness to Him. I vowed never to “play games” with any church member after reading about a Pastor who on getting to heaven was rewarded with a simple apartment, instead of a glorious mansion, simply because he failed to “grow up” his church members. He was not faithful in raising God’s children, therefore he missed out on a big reward. Jesus was serious when He said, “Woe to those who are nursing babies” (Matthew 24:19).

Faithfulness is a very big deal to God. In the Old Testament, it was written of Moses that he was faithful (Numbers 12:7). Later, in the New Testament, God saw it fit to further write about the faithfulness of Moses – not once but twice – in Hebrews chapter 3 verses two and five. May the testimony of Moses be a revelation to you that God highly esteems those who are faithful to Him.

In September 1950, Kenneth E. Hagin was caught up in a vision in which Jesus showed him several things. What he was told in that experience, is being said to you now: “Go thy way, My son; fulfill the ministry and be faithful for the time is short.”

God bless you.
