We are all aware that as a church, LAT will be making four years on 31st August 2018. This milestone will be celebrated with Praise and Worship on Sunday 2nd September. However, it shall not be just a celebration, it will also be a time to look back from where we have come. We must review what has made us a success in God's eyes and build on it. People and institutions get on the road to destruction when they forget their history.

On a particular night, a few weeks before LAT opened its doors, I went to bed late because I was listening to Bishop David Oyedepo's teachings on supernatural church growth. Early the next morning on Sunday, Apostle Ronald Yiga came to my home and handed me Oyedepo's book, ‘30 Years of Ministry'. Apparently, that night, Ronald had dreamt when he was picking that book from his shelf and handing it over to me.

Putting two and two together, I realized that God was communicating something very important. I therefore read that book with uttermost seriousness. One thing stood out from that book: Bishop David Oyedepo only did what God told him. For everything he embarked on, he had a ‘God told me'. This was going to be the building foundation of the church I was starting in a few weeks.

As Christians, success in anything must be measured by how close we align ourselves with the will of God. We must build only on the rock of God's instructions. God told Moses, "According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of its furnishings, just so you shall make it" (Exodus 25:9). Thousands of years after Moses, God is not saying anything new to His builders; His advice continues to be: "Do everything according to My instructions." LAT has tried to follow that wisdom; that is why we are a success story in heaven.

Building on the revealed word of God is the most important aspect of our history as LAT. We should never forget that. Just as I said earlier, people and institutions get on the road to destruction when they forget their history. Many times, we have smoothly gone through dangerous moments by simply using the revealed strategic will of God to navigate the stormy seas. We are still on the scene and thriving because like Moses and Oyedepo, we are building according to God's pattern.

Jesus said, "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock" (Matthew 7:24-25).

As we get ready to praise and worship God on 2nd September for how far He has brought us, we must review this one thing that has brought us success - hearing and obeying God. And let us pray that we never forget that most important lesson of our history. It is that simple lesson that will make us a house of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations (1 Chronicles 22:5). That is what God spoke to me on 2nd November 2000 concerning a church I would build for Him. The construction began 14 years later on 31st August 2014, and we are on track.

God bless you.
