Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. (Colossians 4:12)

On Thursday, we who came for the prayer meeting did not pray for our individual needs, but for as many LAT members as the Lord put on our hearts. We prayed that God will reveal to you your ministry in the body of Christ, and that you will fulfill it. In that sense, we were your intercessors, like Brother Epaphras who fervently prayed that the Colossians “may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God”. Imagine then my excitement when on Sunday Hillary Turyagyenda preached along the lines of using our gifts, and even read Colossians 4:12. This proves to me that this is God’s will for us in this season – to discover and fulfill our callings, and to put all our gifts to maximum use.

By the time we leave the earth, we should have accomplished all that God purposed for us. Not so many hours before Jesus died on the cross, He told the Father, “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do” (John 17:4). When Paul also neared his departure, he told Timothy: “The time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:6-7). God wishes that we should have the same testimony as His Son Jesus and Paul who did all that they were born to do.

I for one feel that I am not using some of the gifts God has given. For example, I realize that for quite some time now, I have not prophesied to individuals as much as God would want me to. Sometimes I think that it is God who has deliberately ‘toned me down’ for a season. If that is not the case, then I am not fulfilling God’s will for my life, and this must change.

Let us remember that Jesus is coming back soon to reward those who will have served Him by fulfilling their purposes. He said, “I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work” (Revelation 22:12).

Please, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.” Colossians 4:17

God bless you.
