I am learning, though slowly, not to quickly take sides on any major national or global issue until I know God’s opinion. I never want to be found fighting God and working for the Enemy. When, after seeking God, Heaven’s perspective is revealed to me through whatever means, I shout it loud from the housetop if I realize that the masses, especially my brethren in Christ, have been duped by the Evil One to believe and passionately support a lie. It is wise for us all to “be swift to hear, but slow to speak (James 1:19).”

In “The Final Quest”, the Lord revealed to Rick Joyner why He entrusted Paul with many revelations. Paul always made it clear in his epistles what was of God versus what was his personal opinion of all the things that he taught. God would want us to emulate Paul. It is not sin for Christians to have good opinions. However, we should do this better; we should ask our Father for the truth regarding everything, but especially national and international issues. And even before we clearly get to know God’s perspective, when we voice our opinions, we should tell our audience that our views are just that – personal opinions, not ‘thus saith the Lord.’

I am reminded of Kiiza Besigye’s 2011 walk-to-work protests. A Christian friend of mine at that time (Dr. Richard Kagimu) was among the people who passionately castigated the government for refusing Besigye to exercise his right to walk. When Kagimu later had a dream in which God was supporting the government in order to stop the evil Besigye was spreading in the country by his ‘walking’, Kagimu was dumbfounded. He was however humble enough to switch sides and support the government’s tough measures against Besigye’s ‘innocent walking’. That is why I pray that our Christian brother Joel Ssenyonyi will also have a similar dream from Heaven so that he understands that his collaboration with Bobi Wine is considered evil by God. I say this because a certain devout Christian had this dream in 2019: “I met the People Power Spokesperson and I told him: “Joel Ssenyonyi, you are a believer and I am a believer. You are a Christian just like me. Why then are you participating in evil by supporting and working for Bobi Wine?”

There is currently the issue of George Floyd, the protests, riotings and lootings. It seems to me that many of us Christians have once again been duped by the Enemy through several of his media platforms. We have sided with “Black Lives Matter,” whose real agenda is LGBTQ promotion and communism in America – not the protection of black lives! Because it is taught to never let a crisis go to waste, many evil groups have taken opportunity of Floyd’s horrendous murder to achieve their evil plans and to enroll the undiscerning.

My point is: as children of God, we should be worthy ambassadors who speak only what we have heard from the Father. As much as possible, we should desist from being mouthpieces of this evil world. This we can achieve in two ways: we should be swift to hear, but slow to speak, and we should earnestly seek God for what He has to say.

A New Normal

Now, let me get to what I intended to write. (Every other thing I have written this far was unplanned). When should President Museveni allow us as Christians to congregate again to corporately worship our God? I really do not know; I just have a personal opinion which might be of God. I think the President should allow us to congregate ‘now now’. I have really desired to know God’s will on this issue before I start making noise for the government. This was my state of mind when I started listening to Carol Busingye’s sermon on Sunday morning. Early in her presentation, Carol talked about how God, in the book of Exodus, told Pharaoh to free the Israelites so that they can go and worship Him. I immediately felt like that was the answer to my inquiry. In fact, I wrongly thought that that was what Carol was going to preach about. I really think we are out of the COVID-19 danger and that the President knows it. That is why he has allowed, for example, all private and public vehicles to get back on the road, in addition to letting people go back to work some in obviously crowded places like markets. For those two reasons – Carol’s message and Museveni’s actions – I really think that if the President does not allow churches to resume their worship services, he will be hardening his heart to the will of God that he knows, just like Pharaoh did.

In the meantime, let us pray for our President that he will indeed do what God considers right. My opinion is that the right thing is to free Christians to resume their corporate worship to God.

Amen.
