Many of you have one major concern with me for believing, (because of three dreams as narrated last week), that Jesus is returning around the year 2034. Your genuine concern is based on the words of Jesus: “… of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36). The purpose of this article is to address your concern. After that I will tell you what Jesus meant by “no one, except My Father, knows the day of My coming.”

First of all, last week’s article erroneously missed the word ‘about’ in its title. I apologize for that. Nevertheless, the message of the rest of the article was that Jesus is returning in about 2034. If you carefully read that article, you surely must have realized that I did not mention a specific day or date of the Lord’s return. The reason for that ‘omission’ was because none of us, the dreamers of the approximate year of Jesus’ return, were told that day in our dreams. The Lord would never have violated the Scriptures.

Now, what did Jesus mean when He said the day of His return is known only by the Father? I will attempt to answer this good question with a brief teaching on the first five annual Jewish Festivals which God commanded the Israelites to observe.

The first festival was Passover. It was always commemorated on the 14^th of the month of Nisan. Jesus fulfilled this festival when He, as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, died on Passover.

The second festival was Unleavened Bread. This was always commemorated on the 15^th of Nisan. Jesus also fulfilled this festival when His sinless body which could not decay, (unlike what leaven does to grain or sugars), was buried on 15^th of Nisan the evening after He died on 14^th. (In the Bible a day begins in the evening, not in the morning).

The third festival was First Fruits. This was always commemorated on the immediate day after the Sabbath day, after Passover. The Sabbath day is Saturday and the day that follows is Sunday. Therefore, First Fruits was always commemorated on a Sunday. Jesus also fulfilled this festival when He, as the first fruits of those who have died (1 Corinthians 15:20), rose from the grave on the first day of the week (Sunday).

The fourth festival was Pentecost. This was always commemorated exactly fifty days after First Fruits. Jesus also fulfilled this festival when He poured out the Holy Spirit on His disciples exactly fifty days after His resurrection (Acts 2).

The fifth festival was Trumpets. It was always commemorated on the 1^st day of the 7^th Jewish month. This festival has not yet been fulfilled in Jesus. When it will be fulfilled is what I will now explain.

Jews determine the 1^st day of a month by when the new moon first appears in the sky. Therefore, they can never really know in advance when the 1^st day of the 7^th month (Festival of Trumpets) will be, because they cannot know when the new moon will appear in the sky.

For the first four festivals, God was very specific about the days or dates of their occurrence; but not for the Feast of Trumpets. The Jews therefore had to watch the sky for the appearance of the new moon. Only after it appeared would they proceed to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets.

Now, Passover was fulfilled at Jesus’ death, Unleavened Bread at His burial, First Fruits at His resurrection, and Pentecost at the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The next festival (Trumpets) will be fulfilled at the rapture. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Therefore, just as Jesus fulfilled all the first four festivals on the exact days of their occurrence, He will also fulfill the Festival of Trumpets by the rapture on exactly the 1^st day of the 7^th month.

Herein lies the problem: the Festival of Trumpets (the rapture) will fall on the 1^st day of the month. Therefore, we can never know when that day will be because we cannot know in advance on which exact day the new moon will appear in the sky.

More so, when Jesus returns for us after the Tribulation, the moon will not give its light (Matthew 24:29-31) – it will be like blood (Revelation 6:12). This means that the new moon signaling the 1^st day of the 7^th month (the Festival of Trumpets or the Rapture) will not even appear in the sky! Therefore, we shall not know the day of the Lord’s return.

That is what Jesus meant by “of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36).

But please note this very carefully: Since the Jews were told by God that the Festival of Trumpets was to be celebrated in the 7^th month, we too can be told by God the season of the Rapture or Jesus’ return. That season is what I believe the Lord revealed to me and two other people in three separate dreams. That season is around the year 2034.

Jesus is returning soon. Therefore, you had better get ready for Him. Christians who won’t be found ready – those who will be living sinful lives – will not be raptured at the Festival of Trumpets in the year about 2034.
