The dream I shared with you last week, in which my little daughter Abigail saw Jesus returning and had to ready herself for Him by bathing and doing good lest she goes to hell was an answer to prayer. A few days before that dream, I prayed to God to reveal Himself to Abigail so that she may love Him by taking seriously His instructions as revealed in the Bible. It had been of great concern to me that her progress in that area was slow. So I asked the Lord to intervene by revealing Himself to her – and He did. I do not remember specifically asking God to appear to Abigail in a dream. However, He chose to do so that way.

I can now honestly testify that since Abigail received that dream in which she saw Jesus, her appreciation for the things of God is better and continues to improve. I must enter the Kingdom of God with her. You too should endeavor – especially now that the return of the Lord is fast approaching – to take your children with you to Heaven and into The Kingdom.

Concerning the eternal salvation of our children, it is a joint project between God and us parents. God has promised: “I will save your children” (Isaiah 49:25). Our part is to seriously pray for our children to experientially know the Lord, and to: “Train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). We cannot leave this so great a matter only to God (nor to chance, nor to school teachers, and nor to churches). As parents we must do our part of making disciples for Jesus of our children, by praying for them and “teaching them to observe all things that I (Jesus) have commanded you” (Matthew 28:20). If we do not do that, we risk helping our children into the eternal fire of hell!

Now, discipling our children for Jesus not only entails praying for them and opening the Bible and teaching them out of it. It also entails living by example. Our lives are a great teacher. If we conduct our lives in accordance with God’s commandments, then we are truly training our children for the Lord and His Kingdom. But if we live like the devil, then the devil will be making followers for himself ready for hell. Therefore, as parents, let the words of our mouths be pure. Let our dressing be godly. Let whatever we watch and listen to on television be morally upright. Let us treat other people the way God would want us to. For in doing so, we are teaching our children the ways of God, and they are learning. This discipling of our children, coupled with God’s constant promise of “I will save your children” (Isaiah 49:25), is a sure way of taking our children with us to Heaven and into the eternal Kingdom of God. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true.

God bless you.

PS: Do not spare the rod. “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.” (Proverbs 22:15)
