I did not write on this forum in the last two weeks because I was physically unwell. During that time, there were several days when I did not open my Bible to read the word of God. It was therefore a very pleasant surprise when one of our dear teenagers in church, Grace Joy Mugimba, shared a dream she received from the Lord in which her and some other children, together with me, were growing in faith in God because of feeding on the word of God. (Prior to becoming unwell, I had been reading lots of the Bible.) Here is an excerpt of Grace Joy’s dream that followed her inquiry of God whether reading His word, which she had begun to do more regularly, was really growing her faith:

I was somewhere with Uncle Moses and a few other children. Uncle Moses was showing us pictures (similar to those of x-rays) of our spiritual hearts. I saw Uncle Moses’ heart and it was overflowing and expanding with spiritual things. I also saw the hearts of the other children and they were close to full. Then I saw my heart; it was not full yet, but it was also filling up with spiritual things.

We are living in what the Bible calls perilous last days (2 Timothy 3:1), which are to precede the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Devil, because he knows that his time is running out, is doing his best to take with him to hell as many souls as possible. The fight of the enemy is not only targeted towards the unsaved to prevent them from having faith in Jesus, but also we who already have faith in Jesus, so that we give up that faith. Furthermore, this fight is not only against us the adults, but also our little ones like Grace Joy and the children in her dream.

It is in such times that we must fiercely respond to the offensive of the enemy by heeding the words of Jude who admonished us to build ourselves up on our most holy faith (Jude 20). The specific faith Jude was referring to was not the faith to have our needs met, but that by which we receive eternal salvation that is in Christ Jesus. Without faith in Jesus (and the corresponding good works; James 2:18-26), no one will enter the soon coming kingdom of God.

In these last days, many Christians worldwide are departing from the faith just as Paul the Apostle said: “. . .  in latter times some will depart from the faith,” (1 Timothy 4:1). Some of these Christians are outrightly walking away from the Lord into either atheism or devil worship, while others are doing so by remorselessly practicing sin. We who are still standing should take heed lest we also fall. And we take heed lest we fall from the Lord by building ourselves up on our most holy faith in Him.

The way we build ourselves up on our most holy faith is by keeping ourselves in the word of God. As it is written, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the WORD of His grace, which is able to BUILD YOU UP and GIVE YOU AN INHERITANCE among all those who are sanctified,” (Acts 20:32). Please do not neglect reading your Bibles, for therein is the word of God that will grow your faith. Follow the example of Grace Joy and the children in her dream. If you do that, then your faith in God will be strong, and you will be able to overcome your adversary the devil who is seeking to devour you by either making you give up on the faith, or by deceiving you that good works do not matter at all as far as eternal salvation is concerned.

And by all means, let us take our children with us. Let us emulate the good thing Grace Joy’s parents are doing in encouraging her to take seriously the reading of her Bible. What Paul said concerning Timothy and his family’s faith should also be true of us: “. . .I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you all” (2 Timothy 1:5). Then we shall all enter the everlasting kingdom of God. Hallelujah!

God bless you.
