Jesus said that, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work” (Revelation 22:12). If we really love Him, we must ensure that He finds us minding His business. Only then will He reward us with imperishable and glorious presents at His return.

In a vision that Dennis Mugimba had recently on 18th September, the Lord reminded us of His soon return. Here is an edited portion of the vision as narrated by Dennis:

I saw the whole sky, and everything was very fiery. Then I was told, "Can't you see, that is the face of a lion?"  I then realized it was indeed the face of a lion. After that, the voice spoke to me again saying, "Can't you see, that is the Son of God?" Then Jesus spoke from the cloudless sky saying, "I am coming back soon!”

Our sincere desire should be that when Jesus returns, He will not only find us living in righteousness, but also accomplishing the tasks He assigned us. By a parable, Jesus motivated us to be found at our posts when He returns: “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods” (Matthew 24:45-46).

Now, in order for us to know what Jesus wants us to do for Him, we must walk closely with Him so as to hear Him. And when we hear His voice, we must obey Him immediately, doing only what He has told us. If we do this, we shall have succeeded in doing the Lord’s will, and He will reward us at His return.

I am reminded of an interesting experience in 2014 a few weeks before Last Adam Tabernacle opened its doors. One particular night I went to bed late because I was listening to Bishop David Oyedepo's teachings on supernatural church growth. Surprise: In the morning, a friend came to our home and handed me Oyedepo's book, “30 Years of Ministry.” Apparently, my friend had had a dream that night wherein he was giving me that book! When I read that book, I learnt the one lesson God wanted me to learn from Oyedepo. That lesson was that regarding the church I was going to start, I should always do only what God tells me to do.

Joan Isoke recently had a dream similar to my 2014 experience. On 31st August 2022, the exact day of our eighth church anniversary, Joan dreamt that every one of us in church, including herself, were sharing the lessons we had learnt in the previous church year 2021/22. In her dream, Joan’s lessons were twofold: obedience is immediate, and do only that which God has told you.

Let us therefore walk closely with Jesus so that we can be able to hear Him regarding the work He has for us. And when we hear His voice, let us obey Him immediately, as we resist the temptation of embarking on other seemingly good works. If we do this, our to-do list will all be checked off, and our reward will be with Jesus at His coming which is ‘soon and very soon’.

God bless you.
