One of the greatest ways it is manifest that we work for God is when He can tell us when not to work. When Jesus said He had to work while it was day because the night was coming when no man could work, He made clear that not every day is a working day. So, some days were off days -- days when somebody was off their game, when somebody was not open for business, regardless of it being a working day for others. Such were not a case of "sleeping on the job", as people who treat day like night by neglect of opportunity do, but instead were a case of trying to get a day started when it is a non-starter.
