The Prophet Jeremiah was given this horrific message of destruction to deliver to God’s people as a consequence of their rebellion. But in the midst of the dreadful and difficult time was a hint of deliverance and a beautiful reminder of God’s Love and redemption plan for Israel, which was in exile in Babylon.

Likewise, for God’s children to continue fully functioning in God’s plan, we must always remember this basic principle about His plans and purposes from Jeremiah 29:11-13:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

What should our response be to such a wonderful promise of a great future yet unseen?
