What is Fasting?

Fasting is referred to as the willful refrainment from eating food. Biblically speaking Fasting is giving up on food and/or drink for a period to focus one’s thoughts on GOD.

Fasting is essentially designed to help us draw closer to GOD by humbling oneself. It is not a form of penance or a way to attain favour with God through self-imposed suffering.

Today we shall look at various people who fasted, why they fasted and what was achieved when they fasted! I hope this will encourage you to start pursuing a lifestyle of fasting
