The release of Israeli hostages last week brought great joy to many Christians who love Israel. Unfortunately, some Christians are anti-Israel because of their ignorance of the Scriptures. They don’t realize that being anti-Israel is siding with their enemy the Devil! Just as we saw last week, Revelation chapter 12 is so clear that the Devil hates Israel because it birthed Jesus who triumphed over him. The same chapter goes on to teach us that in the Great Tribulation, Satan will not only go after Israel, but also Christians, because they believe in Jesus who was brought forth by Israel, and overcame the Devil. No sane Christian therefore should be anti-Israel.
Siding with Israel also includes acknowledging their right to their land. In Genesis 15, we see that God made a promise to Abraham and his descendants (Isaac and Jacob/Israel) that the land will forever be theirs. This promise was unconditional. This means that that land will always belong to Israel irrespective of whether they are ‘good or bad’. God made an oath to that effect. For that reason, Christians should be on God’s side regarding Israel’s right to occupy all its land.
When Jesus comes back, nations are going to be judged on the basis of how they treated the least of His brethren, Israel (Matthew 25:31-46). This will also include the issue of Israel’s land. God says that, “I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land” (Joel 3:2). For that reason, Christians should never support the idea of “a two-state solution”.
We should always be on God’s side, standing in unity with Israel, and not with Satan.
God bless you.
