Genesis 18:17-19 shows us that God's promises to Abraham are directly related to Abraham's ability to raise up his family in the ways of the Lord. And not just his family but household as well. In Malachi 2:14-15, we are told that God expects husband and wife to raise up for Him godly offspring. This means that we ought to train and admonish our children in the ways of God that they may not become vile to Him.
