God is love (1 John 4:8). All that He does, including judgment, is an expression of the love that He has for us. Our Father God want us His children to know and experience His love, which reaches way beyond what our finite understanding can encompass. In the midst of all the bad we might suffer in this world, God desires that we take breathers of love; intervals of rest to just inhale and enjoy His abounding love for us.
In my desire to read the Bible cover to cover within five months, I have already finished a significant portion of the Old Testament. What has stood out in my reading are the highs caused by obedience to God and the lows by disobedience that Israel experienced as a nation.
