This Word for the Week is coming earlier than it should, because “My heart is overflowing with a good theme” (Psalm 45:1). The good theme is that my sermon was straight from heaven, seeing that God confirmed it by a dream. We should therefore be very excited that this season is going to be wonderful, exactly as I said.

I preached that we are entering a season of “showers of blessing” (Ezekiel 34:26), a consequence of our obedience to God. The Bible teaches us that blessings follow obedience (Deuteronomy 28:2), and a harvest comes after seedtime (Genesis 8:22). Therefore, because we have consistently sowed obedience, doing what God desired of us, we are now going to receive a harvest of blessings from Him. That is what I preached, even when I did not have any proof that I was right. In fact, I expressed this lack of proof as I preached, but I also said that I was convinced that I was speaking the mind of God, that we were due for blessings from Him.

Then the proof came! Immediately after the service ended, Esther Mayani came to me with excitement, to share a dream she had had that morning before coming to church. In the dream, Joan Isoke was preaching at church about open doors. She gave an example of Esther and Bruce saying, “A door has opened to them.” Surely, a great and effective door of God’s blessings has opened unto us, exactly as I said.

Let us therefore celebrate, because the time for God to favor us has come (Psalm 102:13). “The LORD has been mindful of us; He will bless us” (Psalm 115:12). The due season to reap the blessings of our obedience unto God is here (Galatians 6:9).

God bless you.
