What I want to say today was aptly said by Roberts Liardon a couple of days ago in an email. Liardon said: “If God has commanded you to fulfill a commission, make it your utmost priority as long as you live.”
It is really sad that from Heaven’s perspective, many Christians never excel in their God-given assignments. This is so because they take God, and His business, lightly. It is for that reason they never experience God and His goodness to the extent that they should. And, they will never hear, in this life and in the life to come, the words of Jesus that trump everything there is – “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
But as for you and me let us make the things of God, including what He tells us to do for Him, our utmost priority as long as we live. “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24). If we do that we will be commended by the Lord Jesus Himself with the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
God bless you.
