Spiritual fruit doesn't come instantly and, like a growing fruit tree in the natural, it takes time. A tree doesn't 'strain' to produce fruit, rather it requires the right conditions in order to be fruitful. The same applies to spiritual fruit. It's our responsibility to ensure that we cooperate with God to produce fruit which lasts.
