We were taught on Sunday that we need to seek, and have the presence of God in our midst every time we gather. We were made to understand that “the presence of God” means the manifest presence of God. Some of the reasons for hungering and thirsting for the presence of God include:

1) God is our Creator (Isaiah 43:1a: But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel)

Since it is God who created us, it means that He is more important in our lives than any other person or thing. For that reason, we should earnestly desire to experience Him that supersedes all that there is.

2) God is our Savior (Isaiah 43:1b: Fear not, for I have redeemed you)

When after creation we fell in sin (in Adam), God became Man and paid the penalty for our sin, thus saving us from eternal damnation. For this reason, we should seek to experience Him who loved us so much to the extent of dying for us.

3) God is our Provider (Psalm 103:2: Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits)

God sees to it that He provides for all our needs. Surely this should make us want to tangibly experience Him who is so generous and caring.

4) We are the Last Adam’s tabernacle / sanctuary (Exodus 25:8: And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them)

God has always wanted to dwell with His people. Seeing that we are the Last Adam’s tabernacle, we should seek to have God’s ultimate desire of dwelling with His people come true.

God bless you.
