In 1 Samuel 30, we read about how the Amalekites attacked Ziklag, the city in which David and his men were hiding from Saul. Ziklag was burned with fire and the Amalekites took captive its wives, sons and daughters. God instructed David to pursue the Amalekites. As David made the pursuit, two hundred of his men got weary and did not continue with him but stayed by the supplies. After he had recovered all the captives and taken spoils from the Amalekites, he commanded that “as his part is who goes down to the battle, so shall his part be who stays by the supplies; they shall share alike” (1 Samuel 30:24).

This message comes from God to thank you for the faithful service in His work at LAT and to tell you that in the many different ways, big and small, visible and invisible, each one of you has labored in the Lord’s house, you will all share in the blessings God has for LAT.

For example, many of you, for good reasons, are unable to come to the Thursday prayer meetings. However, you give financial offerings on Sunday. Almost every week, the Sunday offerings are much more than what is collected on other days when we congregate. That means that your giving on Sunday enables some of your fellow members to meet and pray on the Thursdays. Your money is used to rent a room to pray, and a public address system to use. In that sense, you contribute to the prayers on Thursdays, the incense (Revelation 5:8) that is a sweet-smelling aroma to God. “Beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation . . . For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name” (Hebrews 6:9-10).

This gives me the opportunity to remind you of the rewards God promised you this year in September. If you recall, God confirmed in various ways that He was surely going to give rewards to every one of you. One spectacular confirmation of that promise was a dream seven year-old Christina Mugimba had in which Gabriel the angel told her that her family was going to be rewarded by God for hosting the monthly marriage fellowships.

God is so pleased with what is going on at LAT. Since you make this possible, He that keeps His word wants you to know that you will surely share in the blessings reserved for LAT. In the meantime, do not get weary; keep doing the good you have been doing. “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).

God bless you.
