“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.” (Psalm 46:1-3)

I find the above Scripture portion, Psalm 46:1-3, apt regarding the attitude we children of God should have in these troubling economic times. It is in such times that God proves Himself to be “a very present help in trouble.” Therefore, we should not fear, because our ‘Help’ especially specializes for times such as the country and the world are going through. Our Father God will provide for us through the famine. Hallelujah!

Psalm 33:18-22 is another Bible passage that I believe is God’s word of comfort and assurance to us: “Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.” Indeed God’s care is on you and I to keep us alive and well in famine. Therefore let us hope and trust in He our help; He will provide for us and we shall rejoice.

Let us remember that: “The LORD knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.” (Psalm 37:18-19). Therefore, since we have loved righteousness and hated iniquity, we shall not be ashamed by hunger even in this famine. On the contrary, in this famine we shall be satisfied with God’s provision.

God bless you.
