When last Sunday I finished preaching and sat down, a thought came to me that I should call up to the adults’ church all the children in Sunday school so that I bless them. After all, I had taught about them being blessed by God, particularly their parents’ responsibility in ensuring that they, the children, are blessed of God. So, as soon as that thought crossed my mind, I requested the person seated behind me to go downstairs and tell all the children to come up. When I felt like the children were delayed in coming, I sent a second person to get them up as quickly as possible. When they came, I got them to stand in front of the church. I then laid my hands on every child, as I spoke God’s blessing over them. I learnt after the service that I had executed the perfect will of God.

Apparently, on Sunday morning, a certain parent (father) in the church had this dream:

Pastor Moses came to my home and told me to prepare my son so he can go with him somewhere. I obliged and gave him my son. Less than a minute after they had left the house, I decided to go see where my child was being taken. What I then saw surprised me: Pastor was seated with a big group of children of different age groups, and he was teaching them the things of God; my son was among those children.

Now, the leaders at church who got to learn about this dream all believe, and so do I, that this dream, given its timing, is exactly what played out on Sunday. At the service, I imparted God’s blessing on our children. This was the teaching (you can rightly call it blessing), that I did in the dream. Hallelujah! Therefore, the dream, and the blessing of the children on Sunday is evidence that indeed the blessing of God is upon our children.

What we now need to do as parents is to not mess up that blessing of God. Let us live right before God, walking in His ways, and then the blessing of the Lord that makes rich (Proverbs 10:22) in so many ways will manifest in our children’s lives as they grow up. As it written, “Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house” (Psalm 112:1-3).

God bless us.
