After two Sundays of studying the history of Israel as related to God’s faithfulness to her, and shortly before we continued that study last Sunday, Israel experienced a horrific attack. As Jodi Rudoren a female Jewish journalist aptly described the attack, “More Jews were murdered on Saturday than on any single day since the Holocaust – inside the Jewish homeland, in the nation-state that is supposed to be our safe haven, on the watch of the strongest military in the Middle East, by terrorists whose tactics can only be described as barbaric.”

Given all this – our studying of Israel and God’s faithfulness to her, and the coinciding attack – we as a local church can rightly conclude the following:

  1. Our recent teachings (God’s Faithfulness and Israel) were inspired by God.

  2. We should side by and pray with Israel during this difficult time. This is not to say that everything she has done and will do regarding her enemies is right. However, we take sides with her on the biblical principle that the land of Israel rightly belongs to her by covenant, and God swore that Jews will forever exist on the earth. Understand that contrary to the propaganda of Israel’s enemies, their ultimate goal is the annihilation of Jews and the possession of “The Land of Promise.” Therefore, love Israel, pray for her, and side with her on the two biblical grounds of her right to her God-given land, and her right to fight for her existence.

  3. We must take to heart our primary take home message of those teachings – the faithfulness of our God who watches over His word to perform it. Remember that it was my 19th September 2023 dream that led me to do this “The Faithfulness of God and Israel” series. In that dream, God depicted the visible state of our church as a six-month baby that is a few hours from death. But the baby recovered miraculously, and was instantly a grown child of about eight years. That dream meant that our faithful God will see to it that the very small church that we now are which seems to be close to extinction will not die. On the contrary, He will revive it and even cause it to grow very big instantly. Why? Because He must be faithful to the promises He gave us regarding the growth of our church.

In conclusion, our study of Israel and God’s faithfulness, how we got to start that study (the ‘dream’), and then the attack on Israel, should show all of us that indeed we are in our Promised Land.

God bless you.
