I met People Power spokesperson and I told him: “Joel Senyonyi, you are a believer and I am a believer. You are a Christian just like me. Why then are you participating in evil by supporting and working for Bobi Wine?” This was a short dream a friend of mine had a few months ago.

How evil is Bobi Wine? The extent has been on open display for as long as he has been known, primarily evidenced by his songs and behavior. And when you listen to the true testimonies of people like Erica Mukisa who once were devil worshippers but later accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, you will learn that Bobi Wine is a man commissioned by Satan himself in order to destroy our country.

Why then would a true Christian work for or even support Bobi Wine? Joel Senyonyi used to lead Sunday services at a church I was part of from 1998 to 2011. The last time I saw him was in 2018 at a certain church, where he was the chief fundraiser. How could a man like that suddenly become the mouthpiece of a leading devil’s agent and worshipper?

Sadly, Senyonyi is not alone; many Christians have been wooed into Bobi Wine’s camp. Therefore, in God’s eyes, they are accomplices to evil and are participating in destroying our nation. I wish they knew that they are under a spell. You see, just as many business owners in Uganda are involved in witchcraft to attract clients, so are people like Bobi Wine (and Elvis Mbonye), who behind the scenes practice dark arts to attract and bind followers. I am very sure of what I am talking about.

I am persuaded that if Uganda is ever going to see a brighter future, Christians (abalokole) must begin walking the talk. You see, when we received Jesus, we at the same time made Him our Master. This, first and foremost, means we do not take sides with those who hate Him. Secondly, our decisions especially in matters of great importance are according to His will. A real Christian will therefore ask God which side He is on before s/he supports any person or cause. Our decisions must be based on a sure “thus saith the Lord”, not according to our emotions or intellectual exercise. For example, regarding who to vote for President, we must always earnestly seek God to tell us who His candidate is. I will use my testimony as an example:

During the presidential nomination period in 2010 when every candidate had to go to present their credentials to the Electoral Commission, I had this dream. I was standing along Kampala Road as a convoy of cars passed by on its way to the Electoral Commission offices. I looked into one of the cars and saw that Museveni was the aspiring nominee. At the same time, I saw a crowd of born again Christians jubilating and praising God as Museveni’s convoy drove by. When I awoke from the dream, I knew that God was saying to me that Christians should vote for Museveni because he is His choice for President.

That dream implied that although Museveni had ruled Uganda since 1986, God still wanted him to continue for another five years. You should remember that the two-term presidential limit had been removed some years prior. Since God still wanted Museveni as President until 2016, it means that even the lifting of term limits was His will so that Museveni’s reign would continue, obviously for our good.

When presidential elections came again in 2016, I remember telling God: “In the previous elections, you showed me that Museveni was your choice. Please tell me who I should vote for this time round.” A few days later, I dreamt that I met Museveni who told me that he had found grace in the eyes of God. Based on that dream, I voted Museveni.

Now, as we celebrate 57 years of independence, let us as Christians determine that we shall not participate in selling our country to the devil by supporting Bobi Wine and those like him. Let us resolve that when it comes to choosing our leaders, our decision shall be s/he whom our Master Jesus has chosen. We shall know whom the Lord has chosen by asking Him. When we ask Him with the intention of obeying, He will surely reveal to us His will. Let us be serious Christians.

Happy Independence.
