We are all aware of the passing away of Pastor Stephen Senfuma. He was the senior Pastor of United Christian Center in Kasubi, Kampala. His message of keeping the inner-man (Luganda: omuntu owomunda) pure went beyond the four walls of his church, to bless multitudes in and out of Uganda. Every messenger has a message, and they must be faithful to deliver it. Pastor Senfuma definitely was faithful with the message of omuntu owomunda in not only preaching it, but also living it. For that matter, he is in heaven with our Lord Jesus as this short dream, (edited for clarity), from Hannah Kutesa on the night of his departure indicates:

I was transported in the spirit to the Intensive Care Unit room where Pastor Senfuma was admitted. While I was there with the Holy Spirit, two angels entered the room and removed all the life support equipment that was on Pastor’s body. He was then lifted from the bed by the angels, and happily ascended with them to heaven.

The faithful messenger that Senfuma was executed his mandate and is now gone. However, his message of keeping our hearts pure remains with us, and its relevance will live on especially in these last days before the return of Jesus. Just as the Scriptures foretold concerning the end times, sin is abounding in the world (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Unfortunately, many of us Christians are also ‘possessed’ by the spirit of this evil generation. The conduct of our lives does not in many ways please our Lord Jesus. We seem ignorant of the fact that “the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God,” (1 Corinthians 6:9). Just in case you do not know, not inheriting the kingdom of God means ending up in the eternal fire of punishment. As it is written, “Every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire,” (Matthew 3:10).

Pastor Senfuma’s message must be taken very seriously by everyone who believes that heaven and hell are real, and that person sincerely wishes to go to the former. For the Bible says that, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God,” (Matthew 5:8). This also means that those who are not pure in omuntu owomunda will not see God. Therefore, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it,” (Proverbs 4:23 NIV). “For out of the heart (omuntu owomunda) proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies,” (Matthew 5:18).

I pray that Pastor Senfuma’s message will live on in your life. Take care of your inner man; keep your omuntu owomunda pure. Only then will you see God, and you will inherit eternal life.

God bless you.

NB: I feel the Lord wants me to tell you that if this message, and last week’s (Do This and You Will Live) have blessed you, then share them with other people especially by WhatsApp.
