At the end of the first service where Evangelist Patrick Wandera ministered at our church, a friend of mine who visited us had this to say: “Whenever I used to read your blogs in which you were ‘blowing’ for your worship, I thought you were just being nice to your worship team. However, having listened to them today, I now believe that indeed your worship is wonderful.” Hallelujah! Last Sunday was one of those many services when our worship unto God was ‘LAT original’. For this, we must appreciate Esther (who someone calls Youth Pastor) and Juliana’s team, and Martin the sound technician, for making it possible. Compared to many congregations, we have little to work with in terms of singers, instrumentalists, instruments and technology, time to practice, and money. However, we have what really matters in order to offer unto God acceptable worship – we have the Spirit of worship, and a very dedicated team.

Now, while we were experiencing God during the praise and worship session last Sunday, someone was bambi missing all this, because she was faithfully serving the Lord in what she calls our second branch. Joan Isoke was with our very little children in the children’s church as we basked in God’s presence during worship. In her words, “I was with the young children downstairs because they struggle to worship with the adults. It had also been about four weeks since they had their own children’s worship. But believe me today (Sunday), I knew something special was happening upstairs. What I heard while downstairs was so beautiful.”

Joan, Olive, and Geraldine are often unsung heroes because they do not minister to us directly, and we do not see them in action. However, I hope we all acknowledge their tremendous work in making disciples for the Lord of our children. Their contribution to the work of God at LAT cannot be appreciated enough! They miss a lot in the adults’ church (just as what bambi happened to Joan last Sunday) because they are sacrificially molding our children into Christlikeness.

Then there is this couple – Mark and Rachel Wamai! Rachel and Mark are very wonderful people. They are a real pillar in LAT. Without them, simanyi (I do not know!). I am reminded of a dream about seven years ago in which I was told that, “Rachel is a very good administrator, and she knows how to handle money.” She hasn’t changed. She simply got better at her service to the Lord when Mark came into her life. Hallelujah!

Our prayer for all worship team members, and for those who teach our children, and for the Wamais should be: “May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah. May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.” (Psalm 20:1-5). In Jesus’ Name, so be it.
