Last week we appreciated and thanked our worship team, children-church teachers, and the Wamais for their dedicated service in LAT. This week I am inviting us to appreciate our intercessors and those who finance the work of the Lord.

There is no church or Christian organization that can effectively do the will of God without constant prayer. That is why at LAT we have given ourselves to prayer since the day we came into existence. Joan Isoke has played a pivotal role concerning our prayer ministry. Every Thursday she leads us in prayer for different things as the Lord directs her. And very many times God confirms to us that her prayer directions are straight from Him! For all this, we sincerely appreciate and thank God for the good engineer’s wife. And we not only thank Joan, but also those individuals who routinely show up to pray with her. This includes most of the worship team (Esther, Juliana, Andrew, Praise, Bruce, Teddy, Glory, Jade and Robin), and the Wamais. As you can see, most of the individuals who were appreciated last week are being appreciated again this time for being our intercessors. This roughly confirms the principle that in church life, 20 percent of the people do 80 percent of the work. (This should not be taken to mean that those of you who for good reasons cannot join the Thursday prayer meetings are being condemned).

Now, prayer alone cannot sustain a ministry. Finances are also an integral part of accomplishing the Great Commission of making disciples for Jesus. For this reason, sincere appreciation goes out to all of you church members for financing LAT. All the money that we receive to run LAT is from you members, seeing that we do not get a single coin from non-LAT members other than the offertory of visitors. You all give as much as you can to the church – I think. Therefore, whether you give much or little, your contribution helps and it is greatly appreciated.

To all of you intercessors and financiers of LAT, always remember that “God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love” (Hebrews 6:10). I encourage you to “be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7), in this age and in that which is to come.

God bless you.
