The world will call you successful if you are rich or/and famous. However, God will call you successful if you accomplish His will for your life, whether or not you become rich or/and famous. Therefore, for us Christians, it is God’s type of success that should be our aspiration. And for that matter, when God reveals to us His will for our lives, we should do all it takes to fulfil it. Then when all this world as we know it comes to an end, we shall hear Him say unto us: “Well done good and faithful servants; enter into the joy of your Lord.”

This week I will use our church Last Adam Tabernacle as an example of what success is and isn’t.

Exactly twenty three years ago tomorrow, God, in no uncertain ways, revealed to me the work I was born to do for Him in the earth. That revelation came when I was reading 1 Chronicles chapter twenty two. When I got to verse five, God told me that was my destiny. I was going to be used of Him to build Him a church of great magnificence, fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Later that same day, I switched on the television after many weeks, only to find a preacher reading 1 Chronicles 22:5! From that day onwards, 1 Chronicles 22:5 became the purpose and motivation for my life. I knew that if I never build God a church that is of great magnificence, fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations, He would never count me among His successful ones.

Fourteen years later on 31st August 2014, Last Adam Tabernacle was established. Exactly seven years later on 30th November 2021, God spoke to us in a dream that we had completed the first phase of the church, and another phase was starting that was to be much shorter than seven years. Since then, God has time and again spoken to us very vividly that we are on course to finish that second phase. For example, on 8th July this year God spoke to us by a dream that my car (representing our church) was in a very good condition, with an engine that was as good as new. Then later in a dream of 19th September, God told us that the small church that we are now which seems to be on the verge of death will actually grow very big in a very short period. This dream was in sync with an earlier dream on 7th August 2023 in which Dennis Mugimba, after seeing a jacaranda tree that represented our church, was told that the tree will blossom. Hallelujah!

This all goes to show that although we are not yet of great magnificence, and fame, and splendor in the sight of all the nations, we are actually successful in the eyes of God because we are where we should be in God’s timetable of our journey on the way to “magnificence, fame, and splendor”. The world cannot call us successful because we are neither famous nor rich. However, God considers us very successful because we are on course to fulfilling His will as a church – and that is all that matters. Fame is coming to us, because God said it would. And lots of money will be within us, because God said so. However, when all that happens, it will not mean that we are just starting to be successful. Fame and money are not success in and of themselves. It is doing God’s will that makes a person or a group of people successful before God. Remember that and never forget it.

God bless you.
