The word "submission" carries a lot of negative connotations in this day and age. Over the years it's been so twisted and misused that many Christian married couples are avoiding the subject altogether. Scripture is clear about God's design for marriage in the fact that men and women have different roles. Husbands are to provide leadership while women are to submit to their husbands. The bible never suggests that one spouse is more important than the other. Here are some important components of marital submission that will help us better understand why God calls wives to submit to their husbands, and how we can practice this daily in our marriages.
