Jesus paid the highest price for our salvation by sacrificing His life and dying on the cross. He instructs us to live a life befitting of that price. By that same sacrifice we have fellowship with God, which is the primary calling of every Christian.
A life worthy of the calling of God is a life in the fellowship of the people of God; and if this is to be maintained these virtues are vital.
