The Bible says: "Bear fruits worthy of repentance . . . every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Luke 3:8-9). In the same vein it is also written: "But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:22-23). Yes, we must bear the fruit of the Spirit in order to receive, at the coming of Jesus, the eternal life to which we were called. Otherwise, our portion will be death - eternal separation from God in hell.
