Exodus 20:3-5 - You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.
God loves and enjoys blessing His children with so many good things; family, wealth, work, health, favor etc. It is easy to turn those blessings into idols, which is very dangerous because God detests idolatry. Don’t allow yourself to lose your blessing by making it more important than God. Hold onto earthly blessings loosely, for the only true blessing we should hold onto tightly is our relationship with Jesus Christ.
