Exodus 20:3-5 - You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.
God loves and enjoys blessing His children with so many good things; family, wealth, work, health, favor etc. It is easy to turn those blessings into idols and this is very dangerous because God detests idolatry. He wants to be your ONLY God. Setting up idols in our hearts eventually causes us to stumble into iniquity.
